Winter Horseback Riding

Winter horseback riding through the beautiful hills of Captiva Farms in Wakefield. This is a lovely chance for your gown, cloak, or Viking outfit to be photographed to its full potential! When choosing a costume, please refrain from anything plastic that may flap in the wind and scare the horses - fabric is recommended. As well, please wear comfortable boots that you don’t mind getting dirty, and make sure you can pin up your gown for the intro 30-minute riding lesson.

This ride starts with an introduction to the horses, and a 30 minute practice session in an enclosed ring, so you can learn how to mount, hold the reins, and communicate with your horse. Once this is completed, our two guides will take us on a one-hour trail ride through the forest. They will be taking photos throughout.

Upon returning to the farm, we’ll have 30 minutes to take photos with our horses before we are done for the day!

  • This event may be delayed by inclement weather, as it is unsafe to ride in rain, freezing rain, or temperatures below -15 degrees. I will be as communicative as possible.

  • Masks must be worn whenever you are within 2m of another person and while we are close to the farm, but can be taken off for the trail ride and the 30-minute photo session at the end.

  • Vaccination proof required by me, but not the farms.

  • The event may be cancelled if not enough people sign up, if so your money will be refunded. Otherwise, money is non-refundable for my own organizational simplicity.

To sign up: E-transfer to ladyjessicaharkonnen@gmail.com, and include names of guests you’re paying for, as well as their height & weight, so that the farm can pick an appropriate horse.
